7 Feathers Trading Post closes the loop between the Whole Life Learning Center and greater community by cultivating and preparing herbal medicine, bulk herbs and organic plant starts. We connect people to plant medicine and are a living example of sustainability in Central Texas.
We are nestled in the lush the medicinal forest garden at The Whole Life Learning Center in Austin, TX which provides the majority of the ingredients we use to handcraft our herbal medicine.
This project was started by Caroline Riley Carberry, one of the founders of the Whole Life Learning Center. She is a local Permaculture instructor, herbalist, mama and all around garden goddess. 7 Feathers Trading Post was created to give people access to holistic health support and to support community to cultivate relationships with the plants growing on site. We strive to connect people to high quality, local herbal remedies, seeds and plant starts.
In July 2019 we applied for a Mountain Rose Herbs Grant 4 Plants to fund free workshops on holistic health and wellness for families and children and educational signs for our gardens. Watch the video for more details.
This blog interview illustrates the intention behind 7 Feathers Trading Post and how woven our medicinal garden is into our learning community.
Shot in early Spring 2019, Caroline had the opportunity to introduce herself and share some highlights of our medicinal forest garden where the majority of the ingredients of our remedies come from.
